Imtiaz Ali never forgets where it all started, so he keeps returning to Punjab for more love stories and picturesque storytelling. He has once again gone to his favourite destination in Butterfly, the new song from Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma’s forthcoming film Jab Harry Met Sejal.
Voiced by Aman Trikha, Nooran Sisters, Dev Negi and Sunidhi Chauhan, Butterfly is the celebration of a farmer’s life. Never mind that the song has Shah Rukh driving his tractor in a formal attire. Reports suggest that he plays a folk singer in the film, so he can be given the benefit of doubt.
Composed by Pritam and written by Irshad Kamil, the song is energetic and peppy. It will remind you of Mauja hi Mauja from Shahid and Kareena Kapoor’s hit 2007 film, Jab We Met. In fact, the visuals will remind you of many other Imtiaz Ali films.
The song has foot-tapping beats, but it might not reach the success of Mauja hi mauja due to the lack of novelty.
Anushka Sharma, who plays a Gujarati girl in the film, is seen in traditional Punjabi clothes.
Jab Harry Met Sejal will hit the screens on August 4, 2017.
